	2012 Breeding Announcement - Bullet & Treasure
	It is with great joy that we announce the breeding between J & A‘s High Caliber Harris JH (Bullet) and J & A‘s Dreams Come True of Acton (Treasure). This pairing merges, for the first time in our program, the established close working gundog lines which we have remained focused upon building over the years. Bullet - A True Gentleman’s Hunting Dog The original ‘handsome dude’ (a term lovingly coined by his owner, Julie Harris) is the son of our Jack and Chrissy and half brother to Pippin. Together, Julie and her late husband Jim, always believed in Bullet’s potential. They faithfully built upon the early foundation started here with focused, puppy yard work and introduction to birds. Julie successfully prepared the way for Bullet‘s eventual return to John for formal, concentrated gun dog training. John has always kept Jim’s desire in mind, that he had hoped to fully enjoy Bullet as his hunting dog. Bullet was handled by John to his AKC Junior Hunter title with an overall average of 9 out of 10. Bullet, who now has additionally earned a set of qualifying scores at the Senior level, will continue training to finish at both the Senior and Master levels. He has occasionally been run in a field trial and has a 1^st Place Open Derby (out of 4) and 4^th place Open Derby (out of 6). Dual pointed, Bullet man is very close to finishing his AKC Bench Championship. Most recently he won a 4 point major and a Best of Breed. We are all very proud of this boy. Bullet’s noteworthy pedigree demonstrates how, over time, his true genetic potential could result in a dual championship. He is the grandson of DC/AFC Masked Shoshoni War Chief, great grandson of Hall of Fame Brittany NFC/AFC Aux-Arcs Mark, and has a long line of NAVHDA titled Brittanys behind him. Bullet’s beautiful and easy to care for coat makes it easy to go from the field to the show and back again over a weekend. Like his father Jack, Bullet measures in at exactly 20 ½” which is at the top of the AKC Breed Standard. Bullet’s structure is solid, muscular, and strong. Primarily white with orange (a personal preference of John for his males) Bullet's colors make it easier to keep track of him while hunting. He is very biddable and well mannered. From a long line of natural retrieving and backing Brittanys, Bullet has a soft mouth. Without any force training he is, to a great extent, reliable to retrieve to hand. Bullet is breathtaking to watch in the field as he hunts with style. He posses a beautiful running pattern that unmistakably conveys he is all business. Neither training nor hunting have ever been a game to Bullet. He is very serious about his work. He naturally honors another dog's point although he is most often the dog being honored when hunted with a group of other finished dogs. An amazing sight to see is Bullet hunting with his father Jack, his brother Scooby, and his nephew True. Bullet’s personality is playful and affectionate. His temperament is sound and balanced. He’s actually pretty laid back. And we think he’s pretty special! Treasure - A Dream Come True Treasure, a strikingly beautiful liver and white Brittany is a sweet and well loved TREASURE! She is extremely affectionate, playful, and fun loving. Stunning would aptly describe her appearance and she catches the attention of everyone. From time to time Ann enjoys showing Treasure exclusively in the Bred by Exhibitor classes. With 11 points towards her AKC Bench Championship and needing majors to finish, Treasure measures in at 19 ½”. Her average weight is 34 pounds. Possessing the same attributes and qualities we so admire in her mother Wish, Treasure has also proven the ability to pass that consistency on to her puppies. She runs like the wind and as graceful as a gazelle. It is as if there is always a distant call on the wind for her which she is striving to hear. Treasure is intense, stylish and extremely birdy and has always retrieved naturally to hand. Her bio/profile information and photos are found on her own page. Treasure is the mother of our J & A’s Keeper of the Stars JH (True) from her 1^st litter and also has pups that have earned their NAVHDA titles. A waiting list exists for this anticipated April litter and preference is given to hunting families with prior Brittany experience. All necessary health clearances are in place.
