J & A's Soaring White Sequoia of Acton

Scooby was another J & A's pup who hunted right out of the box for us, and as a young puppy showed us natural retrieving abilities. At about 6 weeks of age, Scooby and all his littermates were instinctively backing each other in the yard on live quail, something quite remarkable! Scooby has been very easy to train and to handle. He's a very soft, sensitive Brittany with assertive and confident behavior mixed in with personality plus. Scooby is definitely "Ann's dog" but of course he enjoys being afield with John and handles quite well for both.

Many have commented on Scoobys intensity and style while in the field. He is simply beautiful. As a predominately white Brittany with liver patterns and ticking, Scooby is easily kept track of while bird hunting - a valuable asset in the Maine woods. The strong natural hunting instincts resident in his sire and dam have resulted in Scooby's development into a phenomenal gundog. As he turned 3 years old in the summer of 2010 we discovered Scooby is a natural water retriever, delivering to hand. This was not taught to him. (As a youngster Scooby and I had fun enjoying a field trial, a few matches and dog shows where he won his sweepstake and regular classes.) As most J & A's Brittanys, the lines behind Scooby include the selective breeding of Brittany breeders known for producing field champions as well as versatile hunting dogs. Scooby is the third Brittany in as many years that we purposely selected from our Birch Springs Wish Upon A Star. We anticipate that our impressive, fun loving, handsome liver and white male will likewise pass on to his get the same qualities and attributes which his half siblings, Treasureand Jack, have proven to do. Scooby is OFA good he has been bred to KJ's Ramblin' Molly Rose with pups expected mid - late April 2011. (Sorry, this litter is entirely reserved.) His field training will be ongoing as we work to fine tune him as a finished, close working gun dog - for our own enjoyment and especially for his. (Available for stud service to approved bitches.)
